This is Matthew's second year at Highland Park High School.  Before coming to Highland Park, Mr. Herbert spent two years working as a preschool teacher at Raintree Montessori School in Lawrence, Kansas.  Mr. Herbert is a graduate of the University of Kansas with degrees in secondary education as well as History with a minor in Latin American Studies.  Prior to attending KU, Mr. Herbert attended Lawrence Free State High School and is a proud member of the first graduating class to have gone all the way through Free State.  Currently Mr. Herbert is the head debate and forensics coach looking forward to another successful season following Highland Park's top 20 finish at nationals in 2006-2007.
