2431/2432 - TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY (S/Y)

1 – 2)
This course will provide a beginning student an understanding of the
automobile. Problems studied will include engine components, maintenance,
cooling, electrical, lubrication, and other support systems. One-half
unit of credit will be given for each semester completed.
2433/2434 - TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY (S/Y)
(Auto Tech 3 - 4)
This course is designed to offer three levels. Each level will
consist of a full year of instruction. Students will explore various
elements of the auto including brake systems, steering, suspension,
tires, power train, and explore the elements of an auto as well as diagnose
the problems making necessary repairs. One-half unit of credit
will be given for each semester completed.
2440 - DRAFTING (Y)
The drafting program is set up to provide instruction in architectural
drafting, technical drafting and advanced drafting. Each area
consists of a full year of instruction. Basic drafting instruction
is a part of each program for those students who do not have previous
drafting experience. Each drafting program includes experiences
in computer drafting, modeling, and problem solving. Students
who wish to enroll in technical, architectural and advanced drafting
should enroll in this course.
2441 – ADVANCED DRAFTING (Y)
Prerequisite: Drafting or Teacher Recommendation
Advanced drafting is a two-semester course for those students who have
completed Drafting and are referred by the teacher. Advanced problems
selected by students might include engineering, architectural, aerospace,
electrical, mapping, plumbing, or other relevant areas of drafting.
One half unit of credit will be given for each semester.
2442 – TECHNICAL DRAFTING (Y)
Prerequisite: Drafting or Teacher Recommendation
Technical Drafting is a two-semester course designed for the study of
basic technical drafting areas. The course involves detailed drawings
of machine parts, exploded views, threads, fasteners, gears, cam, and
other advanced problems. The study is a continuation of the engineering
and technical topics covered in Drafting.
2444 – ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING (Y)
Architectural Drafting is a two-semester course designed for the study
of house and building design. The students will design a complete
set of house plans to meet national building codes. Students wishing
to get a head start on college architectural studies should take this
course. One half unit of credit is given for each semester.

- PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY WOODS 1 (Y)
Cost: $15
This is a semester/year course designed to introduce the student to
basic woodworking. The course will involve project organization,
planning, construction, and related skills. The class is intended
for grades 10-12 and one-half unit of credit will be given for each
semester this course is taken.
2472 - PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY WOODS 2 (Y)
Prerequisite: Woods 1 Cost: $15
This is a two-semester course that will involve individualized work
for designing, planning, and construction of complex wood projects such
as furniture, cabinet making, and desks.
2473 – PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY WOODS
3 (Y)
Prerequisite: Woods
1 & 2 11th & 12th grades
Cost is based upon project selection Woods 3 is a two-semester course
designed to expand skills in the area of furniture construction, cabinet
making, and other related woods fields. The course involves major
projects along with other special projects designed, planned and constructed
in the shop. Students must provide their own tape measures.
2474 – PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY WOODS
4 (Y)
Prerequisite: Woods 1, 2, & 3 12th grade only
Cost is based upon project selection Woods 4 is the most advanced woodworking
course offered. The course will involve individualized work on
designing, planning and constructing complex wood projects. The
content should appeal to advanced students wishing to increase their
technical understanding of wood and wood processes. Cost will
be determined by projects selected. Students enrolling in this
course must provide their own tape measure.
